Things I bought recently…
Bought some shoes for my girlfriend off eBay. They weren’t expensive or anything, but I had to return one cause they were the wrong color.
Last week I got GTA IV for Xbox 360, like many others did. I had it preordered from Amazon. Sure I could’ve pirated it, but big games like these deserve my money yes? It’s really a great game, even if a lot of people only know about its violence. It’s depiction of the faux New York city is awesome and the details are great from the way different fake brand names are represented down to random pedestrians talking to each other. It truly is a city that feels ‘alive’. On top of that, it’s a fun game with a fantastic story.
My Rock Band drum pedal finally snapped. It was hanging on a little piece of plastic and supported by duct tape around. But it finally gave in. I decided to get a “Pedal Metal” off ebay to fix it. Sure I could’ve just got any piece of metal to support it, but this makes it look cooler.
How I Get Through the Week
The drudgeries of work lately keep me unmotivated to come in every week. Nevertheless, I force myself out of bed and make the long drive like many others do. I’ve been looking for another job since I am currently employed by contract periods. The lack of “secured” employment offers me another non-contentedness factor. I am currently pursuing a government job with the city of Los Angeles. Can’t do better than government work as far as security goes as it doesn’t have to worry about bad financial periods. Thinking about the economy also worries me. Housing market is down, stock market is down, dollar value is down. Little things help me think less about it and move on every week.
Monday, I come in to submit my time card for the previous week to ensure I get paid. Although it’s an online system that I can do at home, I only do it at work. Wednesdays I look forward to Zero Punctuation as it’s my new favorite weekly Internet thing. Basically, it’s game reviews of usually bad games, with lots of comedy and swear words. Thursdays I look forward to a new episode of Lost. Fridays I look forward to seeing what new songs will be released for Rock Band, and if it’s something good, it’s something to look forward to downloading on the next Tuesday.
Speaking of Rock Band, they announced there’s going to be an in-game music store to make it easier and more visually pleasing to find and buy songs. I like.
These Songs Need to Be In Rock Band
If it were up to me, I’d put these songs in. However, I may not have thought some of them through. I was going to list some of The Doors songs, but later realized they don’t have a bassist but instead a keyboardist. That wouldn’t work in the game I guess.

Post Xmas
Another non eventful Christmas has past. The only thing I’m enjoying is the time away from work. But then I look at my smaller paycheck and feel sad. I got a Sony PSP and Rock Band as late presents and am currently enjoying those. Rock Band drums are great! Typically during the Christmas break I watch a lot of movies, and this year I did catch a few. I was able to see I Am Legend, Walk Hard, and Sweeney Todd. All of which I really really liked.
