Happy New Year

Happy year of the Pig. Didn’t do anything special for the lunar new year celebration. Some family came by, but that was it. My replacement Wii came. It’s all hooked up and updated with everything and seems to be working fine. However, Nintendo won’t reimburse my Virtual Console purchases. Bummer. I also completed the first ever Xbox rewards challenge.

When the contest is officially over in April, I will get a Tshirt, a copy of Fuzion Frenzy 2, 200 Xbox Live points, and a free download of Contra. They better give em to me.

I also spent the new year weekend being sick. I stayed home from work on Friday as I got sick earlier in the week, and progressively got worse each day. I still have a cough, but it’s not as bad as before.

Super Bowl, Wii, and more Guitar Hero

Gamestop held a Guitar Hero 2 tournament on Saturday. Well, a few of them did. Gamestop/Ebgames once again does a poor job of organizing and communicating things to their employees and customers. Out of 12 stores I called that were listed on the website as doing the tournament, only 2 were really doing it. It could’ve been a great thing if they promoted it better. I went to the closest Gamestop and signed up. 8 players total. I brought a friend and I ended up losing to him in the final round. Still second isn’t bad. The manager was cool enough to give me a T-shirt anyway for coming in second. It says “I played. I conquered” on the back. I almost conquered.

Sunday was the Super Bowl. Rex Grossman sucks. I was rooting for the Colts, but I really wanted to see a more competitive game. Still all those interceptions and fumbles made it interesting. I still can’t figure out if Prince is gay or what.

And some sad news. While enjoying some Wii play time, it crashed during Wii Tennis and I haven’t been able to recover since. Every time I power on the Wii it just sits at a black screen. I’m about to contact Nintendo to send it in for repairs. Ever since the NES I have never had a problem with any game console. They all work to this day. And to think Nintendo is known as being the most reliable, and here I am with a broken Wii.
