spiderman3

Teaser trailer for Spidey 3. Topher Grace is Venom. Also appearing, Sandman and Green Goblin part 2. I’m excited but it’s still a year away.

Also the Transformers movie is filming and there have been some shots of the cars being used. Finally an image of one of the robots. Behold, Bumblebee….

Shieldzone

A while back when I bought my girlfriend an Ipod for her birthday, I also got her the InvisibleShield from Shieldzone. It’s pretty much an indestructible plastic that covers the entire body and keeps it scratch proof. It’s an awesome product especially for the Ipod since they are so scratch prone.

The Nintendo DS Lite’s similar Ipod-ish design had me concerned about scratching it. So I got the DS Lite shield from them recently. The company is great, they sell the DS Lite Full body shield for the outside and the screens on the inside. I didn’t want the inside so I emailed them and they were glad to sell me only the outer shield at a lower price. I put it on yesterday and it went well. Only thing frustrating about putting it on is keeping dust out before covering it. One complaint about the DS Lite shield is it doesn’t cover the sides, only top and bottom. But I’m happy with it and won’t worry about scratching it anymore.

I also bought the Applesauce polish scratch removal kit from them. My old Ipod was scratched to hell. After getting quite a few scratches originally, I stopped caring and let it scratch all it wants. But I thought I give it a second chance. After a few hours of buffing and polishing, you can’t even see the scratches on the front. The back on the other hand was a major problem, and I didn’t care enough to work on it that much. I put a shield on it and happy with the result. Too bad I forgot to take a before picture. Too lazy anyhow.

Thus ends my shameless plug, but I highly recommend this company and their products.

Last.fm

Last.fm

My friend James showed me this cool site called Last.fm. It basically keeps track of all the music you listen to and puts them into charts like recently played, most played, favorite artist, etc. That alone is cool, but you can also look at what your friends listen to, find other people with similar interests, listen to a radio catered to you, place the charts on your website or blog, and much more. I’ll end my advertising plug now, but it’s a cool thing. You’ll notice I have it on my sidebar now.

Here’s my Last.fm page.

Angels & Demons

Finally finished reading Angels & Demons. I started it after I finished Da Vinci Code which was ages ago. It was an okay read, but it wasn’t as immersive as Da Vinci. If anything, it was more logical than Da Vinci Code. I’m not a big reader, so I usually take it slow. With all the time off I have right now, I am doing some more reading. Not a whole lot. Mostly video games, but some reading.

I bought some books recently, though it may be some time before I get through them. I’m reading Fast Food Nation next which I borrowed. I bought Eldest, The World is Flat, and The Chronicles of Narnia (no I have not read them yet).

Also a recent sale at DeepDiscountDVD.com pushed me to buy more DVDs. So I have stuff to watch too.

Although I only planned a couple weeks off before working, seems like I’m readying myself for a whole summer of slacking off. btw USA sucks at soccer.

And for no reason, FFXIII:

Who Would Direct the Movie of My Life?

Stumbled on this and was wondering who it would give me. I was hoping for a more exciting director, but I guess my life is dull.

Sofia Coppola
Your film will be 63% romantic, 33% comedy, 35% complex plot, and a $ 32 million budget.
Relatively inexperienced (The Virgin Suicides, Lost In Translation) as a director, but already highly respected and connected — her dad, Francis, directed all The Godfather movies, Apocolypse Now. Also, at last word she’s dating Quentin Tarantino, so I’m sure he’ll have some input into the substance of your film. Sofia’s good at making the romantic drama that is your life. Who didn’t have at least a lump in the throat at the end of Lost In Translation? She’s already won one Academy Award for her writing, now she’ll be the first woman to receive one for directing — YOUR FILM!

Too much BBQ

2 days straight of BBQ. I don’t want to eat meat for awhile. Saw Nacho Libre. It had some moments, but it wasn’t that great. Still enjoying my DS and do not have a job yet. Haven’t really tried hard for it, but maybe this week.

DS Lite

Ok, so originally when the Nintendo DS came out, I called it a gimmick. Then as I see it further develop and then the sexier Lite version come out, I wanted one. So one I got.

I also got the thing so I can load roms onto it. I’m cheap that way :(. It was a big investment, but I’m gonna call it my graduation gift to myself. Had to buy the console, the passkey device that allows me to boot DS code from the GBA slot, the cartridge that goes into the GBA slot, and a miniSD card that goes into that cartridge. I also bought a copy of Mario Kart because I needed at least one game to make the passkey work. Normally you need the big ugly passkey inserted to boot the other cartridge, but if you flash the firmware you can do without it. Which is what I did. It was a little scary thinking I can screw it up, but it went ok. My girlfriend saw it and wanted one herself, so I got one for her and flashed it as well. Her cartridge and miniSD are on the way. For now she has Brain Age which I bought used.

The End of School

Thursday was my last school day ever. We demo’d our games in the game development class and graded the other groups. And that was that. Later that night a bunch of us met up at a club in Long Beach to celebrate. We went to see a metal band, but I drank so much and got wasted that by the time they played, I was out. It was a fun night though.

Friday was the graduation ceremony. Our commencement was at 4pm so it was really hot as it was outdoors. Did the walk got my virtual diploma ( don’t get the real one for a few months or something), and said my goodbyes and took pictures.

Grad

Was supposed to hit another club that night, but when I got there it was too packed and I was tired anyway.

Today is going to be a barbeque at home, mostly my parents friends coming to congratulate me. I’ll be going out in the morning to try and get a DS Lite.
