iTunes Multi plugin

If you use iTunes as your music software player, there is a good plug-in for it. The main reason I use it is because it lets you passthrough the music through foobar, which in my opinion is superior in sound quality. I don’t use foobar because the interface sucks. With this plugin you can have the best of both. It allows you to do other things like skin iTunes. You can get it here:

Chain of Memories

Having completed Minish Cap on my Game Boy I started on a new game, Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories. I’m a big fan of the first Kingdom Hearts game (having to work on it may lean my bias to it). And I’m really excited to play the second one coming out on PS2 at the end of this month. So I realize this GBA game is more than a rehash of the first game but rather something that bridges the story to the sequel. So I guess I better play it. So far it’s ok. Kinda skims over the old scenes from the previous game with a new setting. Seems pretty simple so far, even with all the cards and stuff.

I read Famitsu gave FF XII a 40/40. A first for any Final Fantasy game, and a first for any PS2 game. Only 5 other games have achieved this score: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, Nintendogs, Vagrant Story, and Soul Calibur.

Last week, Microsoft released a tablet PC handheld that’s like a cross between a laptop and a PSP. It’s called the Origami and it will be able to do most anything a regular laptop can do, but can be carried around more easily. Electronics vendors will all have their own specs and design, so Microsoft itself will not be making and selling it directly. You can see a video here to get an idea.

Re: Oscars

Met up with my Native American class group. Got the powerpoint thing done so I guess we’re ready for tomorrow. By the way, fry bread is good. It’s one of the example native foods we made and it’s yummy, but oh so unhealthy.

I came back and caught the Oscars, missed the first half hour or so. I got all the acting predictions, but I was off on some of the other stuff. I think Best Picture was a pretty big upset. I don’t really feel Crash is a Best Picture movie. But I also felt the same for Chicago and Shakespeare in Love. They were good, but can’t really be the best. Well voters decide, not me. Pretty happy the Hustle & Flow song won. That was surprising. Just too bad Terrence Howard didn’t perform it himself, that would’ve been something.

26

I turn 26 years of age today. Joy. I don’t have anything planned, and I don’t really care to do anything actually. I have a lot of stuff to do for school, so maybe I’ll just have a nice dinner or something. Guess when you feel old you don’t get really excited about birthdays anymore. Or maybe it’s just me.

I watched the Disney Pocahontas earlier. It’s okay. It was really off from the real events. The New World was definitely more accurate. I liked how the in the Disney version, Pocahontas and John Smith magically understood each other in 3 seconds. Movie magic I guess.

I came across a video clip of Will Wright’s (Sims, Sim City) next game project, Spore. I’ve heard about his crazy idea long time ago but never saw any footage. Apparently this footage is quite old and a lot has been done since. Still, I’m amazed at what this game seems to do. Check it: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=8372603330420559198&q=spore

Damn Native American Class

So I have this Native American Contemporary Issues class, and part of the requirements is to do 6 hours of “service learning”. It’s almost the end of the quarter and I hadn’t done any of it. So today for my hours I stayed at the Native American Student Center on campus most of the day watching videos. I watched Thunderheart, Smoke Signals, and half of Dances with Wolves. They were all decent films, the first two being two I have never seen and probably would never have if it wasn’t for this class. The next thing is there is a group presentation on Monday that I have to prepare for. I gotta do some research and get together with people on Sunday. I hate these “effort” classes. On top of that I have to write that Pocahontas paper. Bah.
