Why don’t Asian guys get White girls?
Actually I do know some Asian dudes that have white girlfriends or have had, so it’s not unheard of, but compared to the reverse it is a rarity. But I thought this video was very funny and well done.

It’s really pouring out today. Went to school for the first day of my last quarter, and I forgot my umbrella. I was really tired too because I only got 3 hours of sleep. Got too used to sleeping in really late. I currently have 3 classes: Senior Seminar, Game Development, and Insects & Civilization. I actually took that insects class already, but I think it’s an easy A so I’m taking it again for gpa boost. The game class is pretty much one huge project, which a team of four develops a game. I don’t know how this will go. Gotta come up with a game idea first. The seminar class is the one I worry about, not because it’s hard, but I get nervous speaking to an audience. I’m going to do it on computer animation so hopefully I’ll be fine. I know a thing or two about it.
Received the replacement iPod and happy to report it works just fine. Kinda wish I had one of these new ones for the color and video, but I hardly use my own ipod. Tried to pick up Kingdom Hearts II today, but nobody had it yet, which sucks. But maybe for the better so I can finish up some other games, or start on them. Maybe MGS3 like I planned or Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. I’ve never played any Elder Scrolls but this one looks awesome and I already started it to see how it is. Download for PC of course. I looks amazing and I dig it. I’m a bit wary about the length of the game though, which tends to put me off midway. I did pick up King Kong today at Target. I got the 2-disc version for 20.99. A bit pricey, and I don’t know why they have both a single disc and a two disc. And I’m sure eventually there will be a super extended edition or something.
My spring break is over. Didn’t really get to do much. Planned to play MGS3 again, but it came too late. Played some online though. Fun, but weird. But Kingdom Hearts 2 will be out soon, so I may have to put off MGS3 for awhile. Got my grades for Winter 2006: A, A, A-, A-. My best quarter ever I think, at least at Cal Poly.
Went over to Matt’s today to mod Keith’s Xbox. It was supposed to be easy as it was solderless, but it was more troublesome than expected. Long story short, I failed and took my work home with me. Hopefully some cleaning and redo will work out. I hope the chip and/or connections aren’t messed up. It’s possible I may have damaged something. I did manage to break off the connector on the IDE cable. Luckily it’s generic and easily replaceable. But it still works as of now. I also cut my finger in the process. Pretty disappointing day not being able to do it. Did get to see a movie though. Although it wasn’t very good. Saw Stay Alive, and it was pretty much what I expected. Corny and predictable. They did reference Fatal Frame and Silent Hill which I found amusing.
Technically I still have one more day of break since I don’t have class on Mondays. I’m gonna try to fix that Xbox and relax a little.
Finally my copy of Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistencearrived. I got the 3-disc Limited Edition as well as the pre-order bonus DVD. I’m about to open them up and get cracking.
Spent the day driving down to Torrance to pick up the girlfriend and take her to Santa Monica for a treatment. Caught up on some reading Angels & Demons while waiting. Afterwards, got stuffed eating Shabu Shabu in Little Tokyo.
One full day of use and my mouse has 2/3 bars left on the battery. So far no problems at all. In contrast, my girlfriend’s Microsoft wireless mouse always has problems clicking. She said it was perfect before too, and gradually starts to suck. We’ll see.
For ages I used an old Logitech Mouseman Wheel, which I don’t think they make anymore. It wasn’t until a year ago that I got an optical mouse. My girlfriend had a Logitech Optical mouse but got a new one so gave it to me. It works fine for me. Until one day browsing Fatwallet I saw a post about an Amazon.com deal for the Logitech G5 and G7. After rebates they would be $25 and $16, plus I had $19 in Amazon gift certificates. I thought it was a good deal so I bought both. I’ve decided to use the cordless G7 and give the G5 to my bro. They are pretty nice. Both are pretty much the same except the G5 has weights and the G7 is cordless. By weights I mean there’s a little cartridge that goes in that you can customize with little weight things. I don’t know if it really helps any but whatever. The G7 is cordless and comes with 2 lithium batteries with a charger. I don’t know how well the batteries work yet. Only other difference is the feel of the mouse. The G5 has a rubbery grip texture while the G7 is smooth plastic. Both allow on the fly sensitivity switching. If you notice the two small buttons below the wheel, that’s what changes the setting so you can go from fast motion to slow motion during a game. I guess it would help with sniping. The mice are also laser instead of optical. It’s supposed to be 2000 dpi, which is crazy, but I can’t really tell any difference. I remember having to use a hack software for my old Mouseman to get it to 200 dpi.
So I’ve finally decided to move all my pictures to Flickr. My current Gallery is a little dated and I could free some space and traffic. Flickr doesn’t have any limit except how much you upload to them.
Makes me wonder why I even have webhosting anymore. I got it for blogging and holding pictures which other sites were too limited. Now tons of free blog sites and image hosts exist. Flickr only lets you upload 20 MB a month or something, which would mean it would take me a few months to upload everything… I think I’m still gonna keep my own blog here with Wordpress.
I’m anxiously waiting for the arrival of my copy of MGS3: Subsistence. Shipped last week on the 14th. I kinda wish I didn’t cheap out on the shipping because I planned to play it through my spring break.
I got an iPod for my girlfriend for her birthday. She really liked it except it didn’t work! The sound didn’t come out of the headphones. I spent several hours trying to fix it by restore the software on the iPod, testing the headphones, etc. I have concluded that it’s busted. Made in China ftw!
This morning I called Apple about it. They made me spend another hour or so doing menial things like downloading a song, importing a song, etc., which didn’t result in anything but clear my iTunes library of 20,000+ songs. So now I’m waiting for a shipping label to send back this thing for a replacement. Pfft, iPod with no sound, I figure that’s the most important thing they have to check before selling these things.
I still have my third generation iPod. It still works like a charm, although it’s scratched to hell. These new fifth gens are nice, color screen, displays cover art, plays videos, and is slightly smaller than my old one.
Someone is working on a documentary about Chinese money farmers in the virtual online worlds of computer games. If you’ve played any massive online role playing game that has an economic system, chances are the game has been affected by Chinese workers. They have offices full of employees that play day and night to amass the game’s virtual money which they then sell online to mostly American buyers. This allows people to get easy money into the market and causes inflation across all the virtual worlds. Many people say they ruin the game, but it’s the way our real world is today. Everything is being outsourced to cheap labor. And if people can find a way to make money, they will do it.
Today is St. Patrick’s Day (actually yesterday). I wore green and had one beer. I took my last final earlier in the day. It was a programming final for GUI class and it wasn’t that bad. We had a choice of 3 programs to do. I can do all of them, but wasn’t sure about how much time I would need. I was worried a couple times that I wouldn’t finish in time, but I managed. Then at night, went down to Brea with some school buddies and had dinner at Cheesecake Factory. After that we saw V for Vendetta. Excellent movie. It’s not a typical comic book adaptation.
Watched today’s episode of 24 and it’s kind of upsetting. This season by far has killed off more major characters than any other. Still, it’s shaping up to be one of the best seasons of all. Good entertainment. Can’t wait to see what happens next week. Also Prison Break starts again next week. Another excellent show.
What’s up with Quake 3 and 24 displays? That’s crazy, 10240 x 3072 resolution.
Took my first final today. It kicked my ass hard. And I was doing good up to that point. Now I have to finish up a paper for my Native American class and take an online psychology final tomorrow. And then an easy programming final on Friday. Then spring break… w00t.
