The Visiting Cat

Sometime last week or the week before I don’t quite remember, there was a cat that was hanging around my house. I think I’ve seen it around before, but it wasn’t until then that the cat came to greet people. It obviously belonged to someone before, because it has a flea collar as well as a regular collar with a bell. It is also of a breed you don’t typically see on the streets. Oh, and it was also incredibly friendly. I picked the cat up with no objections from it.

It was such a cool cat that I wanted to keep it. But my mom objected. It seems with traditional Vietnamese and Chinese folks, cats are considered bad luck, especially stray ones. Well bummer. She told me to send it away to a shelter or something. I insisted that it would go away on its own, which it still hasn’t. It’s been coming back now and then. And I guess it doesn’t help that I always play with it and feed it. I know I should leave it at a shelter, but I just like having it around.
