Free IPOD!

*update: I made a more informative guide for this here.

No, this isn’t a spam ad. Well I guess it is sort of. Some of you might have heard of freeipods.com already. Like many of you, I thought it’s just some scam and shrugged it off. It wasn’t until someone I knew actually got his that I was more curious about it. It’s completely legit, verified by a CNN bit and an article at Wired. Also various people around the internet have verified they have received their items. The company that runs this is called Gratis. They also run other similar programs like Freedvds.com, Freevideogames.com, Freeflatscreens.com. All are reportedly legit. Back to the Ipod, what you have to do is sign up with them and sign up on an offer. They include Columbia House, Blockbuster, free trial of AOL, etc. You can easily sign up for something at no cost, just pick the AOL trial and cancel within 50 days. You won’t get charged a thing. It’s pretty easy to cancel AOL.

The second part is you have to refer 5 other people to do the same thing. Then they send you the Ipod. The free TV is much the same except you need to refer 8 people. They offer things like LCD monitors and a Sony WEGA. There is also freedesktoppcs.com, but that requires 10 referrals. So what are you waiting for? Click below so I can get credit :). Oh and make sure you use an email that won’t filter it out. Most likely it will be spam filtered, and they will send you a confirmation email.

Good morning, er afternoon

Ever since the olympics started, I been staying up really really late to watch the reruns. I end up staying up til 4 or 5 am and then go to sleep and wake up in the afternoon. But it’s been getting worse. I find myself staying up even later not just to watch TV but doing other things. Today I went to sleep at 7 am, and I just woke up now. I really need to readjust myself, especially with fall quarter of school coming up, I have early classes ><.

The Visiting Cat

Sometime last week or the week before I don’t quite remember, there was a cat that was hanging around my house. I think I’ve seen it around before, but it wasn’t until then that the cat came to greet people. It obviously belonged to someone before, because it has a flea collar as well as a regular collar with a bell. It is also of a breed you don’t typically see on the streets. Oh, and it was also incredibly friendly. I picked the cat up with no objections from it.

It was such a cool cat that I wanted to keep it. But my mom objected. It seems with traditional Vietnamese and Chinese folks, cats are considered bad luck, especially stray ones. Well bummer. She told me to send it away to a shelter or something. I insisted that it would go away on its own, which it still hasn’t. It’s been coming back now and then. And I guess it doesn’t help that I always play with it and feed it. I know I should leave it at a shelter, but I just like having it around.

Review: Collateral

I was very much looking forward to this movie. Being a big fan of Michael Mann’s work on Heat and The Insider, I knew I was in for a good time. I loved every aspect of the film. The cinematography, editing, acting, dialogue, action, music, you name it.

Collateral Reviewed

Loved it. Cruise is a great bad guy, Foxx can really act, Michael Mann is a great director. Collateral presents L.A. is a realistic way, and I highly recommend it.

Doom 3 Reviewed

My review of highly anticipated game. I’m impressed with the look, just bored with the gameplay.

Review: Doom 3

Doom 3 is a masterpiece when it comes to graphics and presentation. But it drops the ball on the gameplay.

Review: ESPN NFL 2K5 (Xbox)

I bought ESPN NFL 2K5. Main reason is because I had a sudden urge to play it online. Second reason, it’s only $19.99. All the other 2K5 series sports games from ESPN/Sega are going to be the same price too. I will definitely pick up NBA 2k5 when it comes out. I signed up for a free 2 month trial of Xbox Live.

Manchurian Candidate

Denzel does a good performance, but everyone else’s performance were not as good. The plot leaves a lot unexplained with the details, but perhaps that was the intention. I have never seen the original film, but this version’s plot is supposed to be quite different. The film had me wanting to know what happens next the whole time, so I guess that’s good. The movie is interesting enough, and bring about a level of paranoia and concern of how our political figures and civilian contractors can influence what really happens in the world. I liked it, but didn’t love it. I would recommend it as a rental.
