Boring

I realized that my posts are pretty boring and I’d imagine they entertain nobody but myself. I accept that.

Oh hey, DeepDiscountDVD.com has a 20% off sale going. Time to waste money and buy some cheap dvds. Just input DVDTALK or DEEPDISCOUNT or SUMMERSALE in the promo code area. Look at the time, I better go.

Yay Vacation

Feels good to sleep and not worry about getting up for school these past few days. But it comes to an end soon, back to school this week. Found out my grades, did pretty well. Got a B in Physics, A in Calculus, and an A in my computer science course. I’ll be taking the 2nd calculus course over the summer, and the 2nd physics course if I can add it.

All you basketball fans should already know, the Lakers lost terribly to the Detroit Pistons in the finals. This was a major upset to many people, but the Pistons just outplayed them in every way. No blame on anyone, the Pistons just wanted it more and executed better. This Lakers team came to an end in many ways. They lost what many thought would be a sure win. Phil Jackson is no longer coaching. Karl Malone and Kobe are probably gone. Shaq wants out. Next season this Lakers team won’t be the same.

I was able to catch another movie, yay. Saw Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. I liked it. It was a little different. New director, new Dumbledore, a much darker feel to the movie. The kids are getting older. It was a cool film. I still think I liked Chamber of Secrets more.

Had some time, ok a lot of time free. I FINALLY finished playing Splinter Cell (the first one). The game was so hard and frustrating that I kept giving up on it. I started playing it when the game first came out. That was like 2 years ago? Anyway, I’m done with it, perhaps moving on to the next one. But for now, I’m playing Full Spectrum Warrior and sometimes FFXI. And I also get in a game of ESPN NBA Basketball against my bro now and then.

Yahoo! Webmail

Dear Yahoo! Mail User,

Thanks for using Yahoo! Mail. It’s our goal to offer you an email experience that makes it easy and enjoyable to stay in touch. Periodically, we make service changes to enhance that experience for our users. As of June 15, 2004, you’ll enjoy the following benefits:

* Increased storage capacity – from your current level to 100MB
* Increase in total message size to 10MB
* A streamlined interface that’s even easier to use

You will continue to access your Yahoo! Mail account as usual. No further action is required, and there will be no interruption of your service.

But since I’m a SBC Yahoo! DSL user, instead of 100MB, I have 2 GB. Very nice. I think I’m gonna stop using Outlook and stick with the webmail.

Shrek 2

I haven’t been to the movie theaters ever since Kill Bill vol. 2. And I’ve been complaining about that. It’s either I didn’t have time to go because of school, or when I do have time, other people don’t. But finally, I got to see something yesterday. It was a toss up between Shrek 2 and Harry Potter, and we were gonna see whichever was showing sooner. Shrek 2 was the winner. I really enjoyed it and highly recommend it.

Read my review.

I was very happy, for a short time. Because when I got home, I got to watch the second half of the Laker game. It was so sad to watch them play this way. They didn’t lose by a ton of points, but they shouldn’t have lost. Their play was very horrid. They’re down now 3-1. Lose one more game and it’s over. It’s unlikely they will win 3 in a row to take the championship, but I still have a little spark of hope.

To bring myself up, I finished up watching season 6 of Buffy the Vampire Slayer I have on DVD. It’s such a great show. If you’ve never seen it, you’re really missing out.

Review: Shrek 2

The sequel to the Dreamworks animation hit doesn’t let down.

Graduation 2004

grad.jpg
Gale had her graduation ceremony on friday. It was nice to see her accomplish what she worked so hard at. Gives me motivation to finish myself. She goes to the same school I do, Cal Poly Pomona. She obtained her bachelors in Chemistry. The ceremony took place at 4 in the afternoon. It was fairly hot, but bareable. Cal Poly splits up their graduation ceremonies over 3 days and has two or three ceremonies per day. The one I attended covered the college of science, which included biology, chemistry, physics, computer science, mathematics, and geology. The thing I didn’t know was the color of the tassel differs according to the major. All the science majors had gold tassels, but others have different colors. Engineering has orange, philosophy has white, and the most humorous is music, their tassel is pink. Of course, photos of the day are available in the gallery.

Speaking of photos, the graduation gift I got for Gale was a nice little Sony digital camera.

Most of the photos of the graduation were made using that camera. It’s the DSC-W1. It’s a nice camera, and the quality and ease of use is good. And it’s small. If you’re looking for a compact digital camera that’s 5 megapixels, with good quality, I would recommend this one.
