Need to buy DVDs?

Deep Discount DVD has always had competitive prices and free shipping. But now there’s a couple of 20% off coupons that make them really cheap. They are one time use ones and expire 12/5. If you are planning to get things that are being released later, just hold off on the order until it is released (coupon doesn’t work on preorders). But remember before the 5th! The free shipping is a little slow, but they have a flat rate for expedited shipping. I will be getting Alias season 2 and Alien Quadrilogy on the 3rd. Time for Christmas shopping!

DVD+R/W to get Bigger

More than just sand

Someone passed this along to me. It’s a guy making images out of sand along with the music. I thought it was great. It was at SICAF which I understand is a Korean animation festival.

Have a gander.

Final Fantasy XII

So, some images for Final Fantasy XII came out. I was hearing things like, it’s gonna be totally different blah blah. The character design looks a lot like X’s. What’s worse, the lead male character looks so gay! He is worst than Tidus and Squall combined. You can practically make a few minor adjustments to his hair and face and he’d be a girl! But I guess this is what the girls want so I suppose Square knows what they are doing. *shrug* I just hope the gameplay is something new and interesting.

update: Here’s a shaky cam of some footage of the game. It certainly looks interesting.

Chemical Brothers “Get Yourself High”

kroma300.gif

Friend passed this along to me. I think it is pure genius. The Chemical Brothers have a new song called “Get Yourself High”. While the song is okay, the music video is awesome. It uses footage from an old 70s kung fu flick called Shaolin yu Wu Dang (Two Champions of Death). The characters are digitally edited to lip sync some of the lyrics and to carry some props along with the music. It is truly hilarious. After some research I found out the work is done by KromA. You can view the video on the Chemical Brothers’ website, or more directly here. They have it in Real and Windows Media. If you prefer Quicktime you can see it here.

No Sleep

I stayed up all night doing animation for the King Dino project I’ve been working on. Character animation is pretty new to me and took me awhile to get started. I still have a long way to go, but I think I will manage.

While staying up, I left the TV on and caught of lot of infomercials and then eventually the morning news. Today is the inauguration of Schwarzenegger into office. It was really annoying that every half hour they mentioned what kind of food was going to be served at the event. Is it so newsworthy that they are having Austrian food? Oh well, I might try to take a nap or something.

Web Traffic

I’ve noticed my website been getting a lot more traffic lately. Well, not so much my site but rather a certain file I have on my site. It was that mp3 I posted awhile ago that everyone’s been grabbing. I was surprised Google indexed my site so quickly. I remember when the Internet was still young, I couldn’t get my webpage on any search engine. But now it’s there on Google and I didn’t even submit it or anything. While I’m glad people are able to enjoy the song, if the traffic gets out of hand I will have to pull it down. But so far it seems reasonable.

It was interesting to see where my website was mentioned on the various message boards to get the song. It almost gives me the same feeling as seeing my name in the Final Fantasy X credits. Here are some places mentioned:

Kung Fu Cinema
Gaming Force

Matrix Revolutions

Caught Matrix Revolutions last night. I liked it more than most people. Maybe it’s just me trying to make sense of the whole series and trying to appreciate it on different levels. I posted a review on the review section. A friend also posted a more negative review there as well. This marks the first reviews for that section and hope many more will come.

Review: The Matrix Revolutions

A masteripiece? Undoubtedly, no. But Revolutions was still entertaining and I felt it was a good end to the series.

Hatsukoi

Nintendo has an interesting ad campaign going on called Who Are You? If you haven’t seen the commercial yet, you can see it here [Nintendo link dead, youtube link instead]. There’s a song that plays during it, and I kinda like it. The song is called Hatsukoi by Mayumi Kojima. I’ll put it here for download temporarily.
